
A native Long Islander, Dr. Buffolino has always been passionate about science and helping others. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology with departmental honors from Adelphi University, where she was an active leader in the Alpha Epsilon Delta Premedical Honor Society and the Delta Delta Delta Biology Honor Society. During her time at Adelphi, she also conducted research on genetic mutations in plants, honing her skills in careful observation, analysis, and problem-solving.
She pursued her medical education at the New York College of Podiatric Medicine, located in the heart of New York City and affiliated with world-class healthcare institutions including Columbia University College of Physicians & Surgeons and the New York City Health and Hospitals Corporation.
Dr. Buffolino completed a four-year residency at New York Hospital of Queens, gaining extensive experience in foot and ankle surgery—covering trauma, reconstruction, arthroscopy, endoscopy, and medical management of complex podiatric conditions. She served as Chief Resident during her final year, demonstrating leadership and advanced surgical expertise. She then completed a fellowship in Wound Care and Advanced Tissue Healing, including Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy, at St. John’s Episcopal Hospital, earning certification in this specialized area of care.
Today, Dr. Buffolino brings her expertise to patients at her private practice in Carle Place and the Wound Care Clinic at NYU Langone Long Island in Mineola, NY. She is dedicated to providing compassionate, cutting-edge care for a wide range of foot and ankle conditions—from routine concerns to complex wounds and limb salvage—helping patients stay active, mobile, and healthy.
